flavboy
Am I the only one that reads the Intro area??? Here we go.....So how did it all begin? ....DJ'ing @ a party for an 18th with some amature kids. I gave them and their records a ride and stayed. They equipment was ultra basic but they got paid $100 ea. That was a loooong time ago and i've probs only played 20 times snce then on basic stuff until last few months.Where did the name come from? .....A little cheeky kid. What gave you that initial push?.....I didnt like what others were playing.Which came first: DJ'ing, Production or Promoting? ...DJ'ing.Who's throwing the best parties at the moment? .....I am.Which other countries have you played/put parties on? .....Germany, Italy, Austria but nothing big, just for friends. What was the first event you ever played at/put on?......My gf at the time, was her 21st.What’s the best event you've played at/put on? ......the next one! What was your first record you bought? .......KISS, Dressed To Kill. What was the first CD you bought? .......LIVE.Out of all the tunes you have, which one 'never fails'? .......Well, depends on the type of crowd! What's your favourite tune of all time? ........I have had lots that seem to fade with time like 'skydive' but it's been killed by too much air play at points in time. When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out? .......Lots of Sex So how is the Australian scene in your eyes at the moment? .......GHB needs to be wiped off the planet, same with anything that hurts party goers. The music in 'hard' needs to take a step back when every tune was a winner, now it's unclean and not refined. Nik Fish was playing Picotto at 3D last time I saw him. The last person who i saw play that was Picotto. I dont class Mauro as a brilliant DJ but he knows his music and what works in a wider audience. Jason Midro still has a good sound and I hear is coming back into the scene after some time off for a family. He is also a sound engineer which 99% of DJ's are not, and an absolute wizzard on the mixer and decks. Shayla Hassandic is different and back to basics with her Hard Style work and becoming popular. Shes also a great self promoter. Lisa Carrick is also playing a wide variety of old school popular tunes and nice uplifting material. Hopefully we will see more women out there as it's nice to have a look at how they play. How old are you? .......im the new 30-----ish.Where do you live? ......Melbourne mostly. What can you remember of playing/being at your first live set? .......Cheers and being in control of the crowd...and free beer. How big is your vinyl collection? What do you think of CDJ's? or How big is your CD collection? What do you think of Turntables? .......love vinyl better, its more fun but the cd collection is bigger. Mabey around 500 with some on the pc. Funniest thing that ever happened at an event? ......At Kryal we chartered a plane and flew around the top of the event at 11pm!!! Amazing site watching all the lasers from the sky. I guess it was more something I always wanted to do more than being funny but everyone we knew that saw it cracked up and so did the pilot!!Other DJ's you rate? ........The real talented stayers like Tiesto, Midro, Oakenfold..What are your feelings on the MC's? ........They have their place, just not with me.What do you do outside of the music scene? ........look after my kids, fix exotic cars. Im a mechanic by trade! What advice would you give to up and coming DJ's/Promoters? ........reaserch, lots of it, dont do anything too big too early. When you play is it mostly pre-planned or on the fly? ........I play mostly at home these days but will do something when im ready so pre planned i guess. If you could put yourself as the res DJ in any scene, where would you choose?.........RESI in Germany.
