Funky_Steve Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 What do you guys use to transport your gear to/from a gig?I've seen some use a box trailer. Also been involved with some of the big operators who use a van/s to carry multiple units.I've gotten by with the good 'ol family wagon for many years.Anyone have anything special? Quote

pill Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I got me a good old commie wagon with a nice big stereo. Not lowered and with a standard, silent exhaust to avoid any label of bogan or similar. Back seats fold down to fit four 15 inch speakers, sub, 2 amps, two light stands, nine effects lights, and the mrs in the front seat. But normally i don't take all that to a gig. Normally tasked with getting the mrs and her friend from northbridge on the way home though... Quote
JonnyB Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 when we played our first boat cruise, we had to transport the entire system in 2 magna's one of them being mine, had the back seat lieing flat, we only just managed, ill try track down a pic of all the gear we had to put into our cars, i think its on my mac. Mattye Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Has anyone seen that Mr Bean Epesode where he sits on the roof and drives with ropes and 2 brooms for the accelerator and the brake?I can just see Az doin that...Lol Quote
Funky_Steve Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Years ago when I worked for a multi-unit company I used to drive a convertible celica. One night I was playing at an 18th Birthday party at a soccer club where way too many guests had arrived (I think it was advertised at their school and they were charging $5 a head at the door). Not enough security as the club didn't expect the huge turnout and things started getting out of hand. Long story short - cops arrived and shut the party down early. I rung the boss and he said no one could get there to pick up the gear for hours and if I could take it all home.So I packed the amp and my music into the boot, console in the front passenger seat, but had to take the roof down and squeeze the speakers upright into the back seat, side by side. Looked pretty cool but not something I would want to do more than once.Wish I could have wired them up to the car stereo. Would have been cool!! Quote
pill Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Wish I could have wired them up to the car stereo. Would have been cool!! PLugged a pair of P.A. speakers in the space of the door speakers when I used to drive... wait for it... a 1971 HQ.Looked like the biggest bogan-mobile but it dominated my friend's stereos! Quote
andythemusician Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Wagon with a 6x4 fully enclosed box trailer dangling behind. The trailer's pretty much full, and occasionally the boot of the wagon has a few things in it. Once I get new stands they'll do on top of the trailer, and hopefully I'll have some more room again!
