eddiebrillo
I've just used a bit of software to mix I had mixmeister a while ago I didnt have the cash for decks. Think Drum and bass dubstep jungle, old trance. I dont know what the different decks and stuff offer, but I was hoping to use vinyl, but cdjs seem to be easier than having hundreds of vinyls. Im looking for decks and a mixer but I dont know what Im looking for. Im looking to get second hand gear so maybe i can get a bit better gear, even if its a bit older. Im trying to get setup for about $1500 but I could stretch to 2knice to meet you pulsebeat
eddiebrillo
okay I saw on some us forum just try mixing on a pc at first but I say that sucks, I want to get started as soon as I can. Ive been looking at stuff like this http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=2350But now Im thinking there'd be people here that might be selling of a good kit for a budding DJ

Jaz
They can often end up even man (CDJ or Vinyl Decks)think about it this way, CDJ very expensive but CD's and music relatively cheap...Vinyl Decks Relatively Cheap in comparison, but a Collection of good Records Very expensive....may end up even, may not....by the sound of it if you want to go Vinyl then do it because if u dont you will always have that doubt in your head wanting to do it and probly do it anyway LOLand if your going to spend over $1000k for CDJ decks then i would go for something better then what you linked, think Denon and Pioneer mate, i meen stanton & Behringer are great brands but your forking out a decent amount anyway so why not go to around $1500-$2000 like you said and get the top Brands and models....And dont be afraid of used gear (as long as its good Condish), spesh for your 1st seti recently bought a used set, 2xPioneer CDJ400's, 1x Pioneer DJM400 Mixer, all in a Pioneer Case for $1700, Cant even tell they are used, and im Loving them , i shouldnt have to upgrade for well over a yearso thats just food for thought dude Added a pic as well for ya
eddiebrillo
That looks brilliant. Okay well Im going to have to aim for Pioneer/Denon setup. I think Im going to go with vinyl. I figure as long as Im just learning and mixing at home vinyl will be fine. Would you recommend a turntable or does it depend alot on what your style is, other stuff like that? Jaz
Thanks mate well 95% of clubs have pioneer decks so why not....and as for in depth vinyl info your gonna have to wait for other members as i only no some very very basics LOLbut the brands you should be aiming for are Stanton, Numark, and technics turntables as they are the most common/best...thats about as far as i can go with that...Found this from another threadsomething like this is an epic good Beginner set up, all u need is a decent laptophttp://www.djwarehouse.com.au/djgear/dj ... -pack.html
eggssell
hey man welcome if you want to go vinyl and already have shyte loads of cds then consider a DVS (serato or traktor scratch) problem is it will rely a computer. but its good because you can take advantage of your existing music collection. of course though itll cost another 500 to 650. which will leave you w 500 to 1000 for decks n mixer which is doable if ya search enuff

Jaz
LIke Eggs said DVS is availablebut then there is the cost...Now its Hard/bad to tell a Noob this but....there are "other" ways of obtaining this software for your Computer....on an interest free kind of deal if you get me....because i no cost was a major major factor for me when getting these Programs...just a thought...but at least now all the vinyl Junkies are kicking in with help
eggssell
oh what was i thinking, you wont get decks and mixer for 500 but 1000 is doable.Djaz, for a dvs you need the hardware else software doesnt help (serato is actually free to download).
