eggssell Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 wu-huuuim a bit of a N.E.R.D nerd. a lot of y'all prob know some of their cross-over chart hitting singles but they gotta lot of awesome tracks, and i love their albums because of their willingness to go all over the shop in terms of genres and sounds (except maybe fly or die which had a lot the same same). ive got music A.D.D., cant particularly handle the same sound for too long and hence why i find it hard to listen to most artists albums. as ive said before i dont really like to hear a track for at least another week once ive heard it, and i usually dont want to hear te same artist for at least another hour.anywho just saying they usually mixx it up quite well. anyone who has never heard the "In Search of..." album. grab it, it kills.and even better Chromeo opening!! wuuu-huuuu-huuuu. i copped their new album last week i love it. anyopne into that funky synth 80's sound hit it up. eggssell Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 man what an awesome night. nerd killed it and lucky too because boysnoize left everyone frothing and ready to tear the roof off.didnt catch tineh tempah but went in for chromeo. these guys are two talented individuals. chopping from guitars to basses for dave 1, and basses to organs to synths for p-thugg. and both smashing out percussions on snares, cymbals and cow bells when they had a free hand. freaking awesome funky set, danced and sang along to the whole deal.then boysnoize played an awesme set on a 4 deck 2 mixer setup. he had at onetime 3 decks going, though one had a only a guitar riff loop going but it was tha shyte. awesome set with lots of epic builds and drops, some down right drrty ones too. dropped everything from ac/dc (well just a riff) and the billy jean intro.his set was so rocking made me wonder whether nerd could top it considering their last album is very soulful (which is good cuz thats what ive been kicking lately), and not as funky as insearch of..., or rocky as fly or die, or poppy/rappy as seeing sounds. but they were able to kill it. extending all the bouncy jump in the air songs, and adding adlibs and shyte. their songs are so muc better live then even recorded in the studio.if i had to hate on anything it would be that the gig should have been billed as a festival side show featuring four acts with NERD as the close, not a NERD concert featuring 3 guests. cuz really each act just played an hour set each just like a fest gig.anywho danced my ass off for the whole time with the only breathers being a couple slower nerd tracks. and all fed (chek the food thread). topp night Quote
