Here is a petition that i have just started, I hope that it will get panasonic to create a new DZ1200.

wow, thats pretty interesting. Sadly i just dont think it will happen, theres a slight glimmer of hope with things like serato and trackot out there.

you cant improve on perfection though i freaking love my 1200's

Ya well help make a difference your vote and words can help set a new industry standard for digital DJing, i mean cmon pioneers are good but is it really what you want when u DJ, personally i'd like to see the old school flavor of spinning platter in a digital turntable that is made to live for 30 years

apart from how it looked, what else has the sldz brought to the world?

what are you expecting a new one to offer that we don't already have? even if it all worked well, at best you'd have a chromed denon deck

ya true alot of cd decks have what dj's want right, well why not keep the variety of cd decks, personally the more thats out there, the more unique a setup will be as well as what the DJ will be like as an artist

technics released there own cdj. was pretty decent. just didn't take off.

If I were them i wouldnt bother. The market has been pioneers domain for too long now. they are so well established... its like another company trying to trump the Technics 1200's...it would be near impossible.

I think it would be a bad finanical decision on Technics behalf if they have already tried once.....

Good luck though, there unit must have shown massive potential if you've made a petition.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, since Technics' direct drive motor design went out on the open market its pretty much fair game, its just no one realises that stantons and even american audio have pretty much the same motor as a 1200, the same reason people always go to pioneer, because they know it works, this leaves some people in a good situation, because you have the majority of the people buying the way overpriced gear causing products that are just as good, if not better, to lower their prices to stay competetive. That said I could never knock 1200s, but I can knock pioneer cause they are fucked in the head.
