When your DJing, do you start with slow songs gradually building up, or just throw it out there and start off with a big hit or something pumping, or mix it up with fast and slow songs?

what does everyone like to do?

i do it at the start of some sets, as skank said...it depends

I like to mix house in all it's wonderful forms, and when I make a mix tape I like to start with some tech house then move to vocal house then to some more banging stuff ie. electro etc.

ok coolness and @ skank i'm mostly playing at house patries/ big bash parties with too many drunken underage people

start with what u think would work if u were at a party and if the crowd enjoys it continue along that path if not try another direction ie. slow down speed or speed up...you need to get a feel for the crowd every party is different
