never heard of eMachines but its actually just a range of netbooks by Acer (who i have heard of). its down the line with Acer some say they suck az, others say they are good value (still not the best machine just good value machines).

check cnet and toms hardware to see if anyones reviewed the machine.

these little laptops do just about as much as a smart phone, just with a keyboard n bigger screen, i would get 1 if i was doing major travel for a job or something, but otherwise nah

my room mate has a litte 12" HP, It does what she wants fine, and HP will kill acer anyday but its still no powerhouse and is semi slow

although Alienware (made by dell but dont come close the shitness of dells) do a range of these mini lappy's and they will out run most people's full size toshiba's and macbooks

but your looking at like $1500-$2000 minimum for the smallest 1 (bit cheaper direct from them) VVVVVVV

yea i know its a netbook

i just want something to carry around and type on

i don't want an iphone or some piece of crap i have to type with my thumbs on or some dumb shit

but i don't need a huge 5kg laptop either

would be good if it had intergrated wireless so i can get on my home network, and i want it to be able to play movies too so i can watch them on the train

and i want to spend as less as possible

those sites never give you full specs its a pain in the arse

yeah thats why look at cnet or toms hardware.

what about those little asus machines? more expensive than acer, but cheaper than hp.

i don't want an iphone or some piece of crap

I bought an eee pc (asus) ages ago.

It's the linux version with a solid state HDD.

I rate it for a good portable little computer that is capable of web browsing and emailing.

Got a Asus laptop 8 year old no CD player working, no wireless, fading screen, shorts out every so often, no virus protection, use it as my sacrificial puter, but it just wont die.
