With the revolutionary new Denon DJ Hybrid MIDI mode free F/W download, current users and future owners of the DN-S3700 or DN-S1200s will be able to use various supported DVS applications (on either a PC or Mac®) such as Serato™ Scratch Live for direct spinning platter control (for DN-S3700). The new HYBRID firmware uses Denon DJ’s world’s-first built-in Relative mode timecode signal generator, and in conjunction with a DVS-supported sound card or Denon DVS-supported mixers such as the DN-X1600 and DN-X600 you can eliminate your traditional CD timecode (and flash drive) media for control of your DVS. Your DVS’s required tone is now generated from inside the player’s DSP and outputs through the analog RCA connectors of the DN-S3700 or DN-S1200 during Hybrid mode. Various other surrounding keys and knobs are freely available to MIDI map as seen fit. Other firmware improvements with this release include new Auto BPM detection engine, doubled Platter Resolution (for DN-S3700) and position accuracy via a newly-added preset. With the addition of MIDI Hybrid mode, the DN-S3700 Digital Media Turntable is giving working DJs an even more comprehensive tool and solution they need to succeed and grow their creative talents at a very affordable cost.

Will post when firmware download available in September.

hey matt, i asked you on ITM about the time code thing with traktor... just wondering if you guys have had a chance to test it yet?

ie. the 3700s

Hi Lloyd,

I haven't tested the hybrid mode yet as the firmware hasn't being released. It should be available in the next two weeks or so.

The DNX1600 isn't due into Australia until October.

hopefully we'll see these for $1500 or less :)

compared to the djm800, they are the same width and slightly shorter and slightly lower.

in other words, this will fit in an RC3 road case with my 3700s :)

happy happy happy

PS. hurry up with your review (which will be biased :P) on this mixer

some more testing required :D

However, having only tested the mixer with TT's and vinyl the cross fader is tight (Alps fader) and great if your into scratching! Channel faders are more for the club DJ than the scratch DJ and aren't as responsive as I prefer.

The effects unit is much better than that of the DNX1500 (if you've played with DNX1700 - same effects units!) Denon have certinaly improved the effects available which give you more options than the standard found in some mixers on the market.

Very clean sound (even when using vinly) but will be doing more with DNS3700s and traktor for those of you using DVS systems and how the DNX1600 operates / integrates.

Cheers

I'm glad to hear that it has a very clean sound, this is probably #1 on the list of features. Hopefully it will be as good as my urei that i'm currently using.
