lloydc Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I know there are heaps of acts out there that have 2 or more members, but only recently i've given it some thought. How exactly does this work?Do you just take turns in mixing? do you use multiple pairs of head phones? is there some sort of etiquette you should follow? For those of you that DJ or have DJ'd as a duo, please tell me about your experiences, good or bad. Jaz Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 i think there was a thread recently posted up about this, let me see if i can find it....but for now, there are 2 main ways i believe, taking turns on the decks while the other DJ does the lighting or watever he pleasesand there is the 1 where each DJ has a deck or 2 each and either does 2 or 3 songs then the other takes over with what he has prepared while the other was playingor both playing at the same time daft punk stylegive me a sec n ill find that thread...here we go,not a thread fully related to the topic but alot of talk about it in there, will be helpfull: http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=3101Your welcome Quote
Jaz Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 its all good, a thread specific for the topic was needed anywayonce all the others log on probs later this arvo they will no doubt hit this thread n provide some better info Quote

Skank Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 id like to get into a duo where we produce and edit our own remixes and stick to a particular genre, its a bit easier like that i recon Quote

BeatLeSS Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I rekn it'd be better suited to a freestyle sort of act in my opinion.Live sampling/remixing/mashups on the fly - would be kick ass with two sets of hands and two musical minds with a whole tonne of buttons to push and knobs to turn! Quote
