Nathn Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hi guys im new here but i could help with the lighting stands.http://www.industrygear.com/originals/lts30t.jpgi have an account with lsw and could get this stuff a bit cheaper RRP $249.00www.lswonline.com.auPS i do not work for lsw. Quote
SourceRaver Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 NOTE:I bought one of these a few years back off E-bay and given the price the thing has paid for itself time and time again.But...I bought another one much more recently and the quality was terrible compared to the first. Is was a thinner grade aluminum (the original was steel) and the bolts for attaching lighting fixtures were tiny and I'll have to replace (and redrill) them: Quote
SourceRaver Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 The above image is the first one I bought. Note how the cross members between the two horizontal poles are welded in place. The latest truss has plastic collars attaching it to the horizontal poles (presumably as its more difficult to weld aluminum).Just thought I'd share the knowledge. Quote
DjDennis Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 mine was steal when I bought minebut its where you buy these days its all plastic to meI dont need to buy one again (thank god) Quote

SourceRaver Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I hope your not plugging those strobes into the same circuit as your sound system... Quote
SourceRaver Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 More like....Tik..Tik...Tik...Tik...etc.Comming through the PA. Doesnt happen everytime but you cant use the strobe (obviously) when it does.Strobes are the most power hungry lighting effect you can find. I've seen whole rigs die as soon as the strobe goes on due to overloading. Always turn everything on before a gig (ie a stress test) to make sure it doesnt happen during the gig. Quote
DjDennis Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 yes - I would second thatseen it happen many times over the years Quote
Jaz Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 actually source at my house i was running it off the same switch board but occasionally yeh it would cut out the music, so i just got all lighting running off a second powerboard and have amp laptop Midi and powered speaker running off a seperate serge proof powerboard Quote
DjDennis Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 So now can you hear the tic tic tic when using the laptop and the strobe ? Quote
Jaz Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Nope never heard any tic threw the speakers, the strobe makes it's own ticking sound but my phone speakers could make more noise then that, may only certain strobes cause the speakers to get a tick interfearance.... Quote

DjDennis Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 different lights do different thingsdifferent speakers act differentlyalso with lights and sound on same circut that can happenjust test it in all possible ways and see if you get interference - if you dont then all is good Quote
