SourceRaver Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 A coupla years back a friend and I started a small Dj production company called UDJ. Check out our My Space page for some pics of our equipment (probably best to look at the promo video I made):http://www.myspace.com/udjproductionsIve since moved on as I'm a full time AV tech now but Marc has carried on the business. He doesnt seem to have updated the site since!?... Quote

pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 A lighing setup from a coupla weeks back - i know the cables are ugly but was very short of time to set it up!Action shot is only of half the lights on. Quote
FabDJ Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Looks good but I have a beef about light stands. They are too weak and cant hold even par 56sWith a double derby and a couple of pars they start to bend.I have to piss off the horizontal rail and use 40 mm aluminium angle to support the lightest of loads. Quote
pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 haha. yeah I left my safety pins at home that night so thats why they're on an angle! Quote
DjDennis Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 see pill you need to do moreit doesnt look to crash hot that light setup you should do a proper setup and take some picsoh well each to his own.... Quote
FabDJ Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Pill I wasnt taking the piss out of your light setupI'm annoyed that mine sags with the lightest of weights and it looks like yours does the same. Quote
pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 FabDJ I know you weren't. You are actually constructive on these forums.Dennis, however, doesn't seem to have been tought the 'if you can't say something useful' concept. Quote
DjDennis Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 you should buy better stands - the weight on that wouldnt last if you keep using that much on thereeveryone wants the best and some should set examples pill it happens that a better stand would have been far better - sorry you took it the wrong way but to me its like looking at a bad hack dj thats a fly by nightyou want standards to raise then you have to look at things like this pic belownow that will hold the weight.... it has the ability to be more! and do loads morehere is whats wrong with yours (quick look)FabDj if yours is like Pills then you need what I have (pic above)its light weight and very STRONG Quote
pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Yeah. As I said, the bar's leaning because i forgot my little case with the safety pins. I only took that much out with me because I wanted to take lots of pictures/videos of my different lighting packages.... anyway. normally i'd only take one light stand with two lights either side, there's a reason that one above is called crazysetup.jpg, !on the night was just concerned with getting it set up and ready because i was running so late. mainly just put it up for a lol!I'd invest in a truss if i did these kinds of gigs more often though! Quote
pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 oh also as you can see one light stand has a larger t-bar than the other, i rarely use the longer one if im only using two lights! Quote
DjDennis Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 ok well sorry had to show you but we have to keep the standards up you knowbut you like the one I showed you above yoursits very strong but light weightyou might be able to get the bar part in betweenif you want more details I can get that for youits not that expensive but you would have to look firsttake it easy Quote
pill Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 haha yeah, if i was doing a wedding or anything it would be alot prettier than that, the picture would never go on my website it was just for reference here! Quote
FabDJ Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I guess you get what you pay for.If the price is too good to be true it usually is.My light stand was 45.00 and came from China.Should have been labelled TOY. Quote
