Ivan_Pageot Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I still play vinyl but do I buy it any more?... not as often as I would like to simply because of the prices they are going for. Quote
eggssell Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 timecoded vinyl / cd's dont count lolhow are these different from using USB on cdj's?anywho, yeah i got a stack of vinyl collected between 85-91 plus the entire beatles collection i inherited (ran off with ) from my old man. but since going dvs the only vinyl i have bought are battle records. LabRat Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 timecoded vinyl / cd's dont count lolhow are these different from using USB on cdj's?same same... actually, using USB on CDJ's is the stupidest idea in the first place. why spend all that money on buying (essentially) a CD PLAYER just to plug in a HD or USB?? isnt that what MIDI controllers where made for anyway? Why do car audio head units support cd's, dvd's, bluetooth and usb devices? Its useful to have the flexibility to use whatever medium suits the circumstance. Quote
Skank Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 i think having usb option on my cdj is awsome for examplefor house partys i load my ipods up with a shit load of music i wouldnt waste my time burning to cds eg 80s, pop, rock etc this saves me money on cds and allows me to say yes when the drunk punter comes up and asks for the song no ones heard in a decade Quote
Andrez Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I still play wax - along with CD-R, mp3s & dictaphone. Quote

Andrez Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I still play wax - along with CD-R, mp3s & dictaphone.dictaphone? Plz explain ><Heh-heh... just one of these old babies:I used to use this for interviews with people over a decade ago, so I have lots of tapes of interesting music bods that I sample and rewind amidst sets. Keeps me amused, anyway. Quote
Cupe Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 i got one of those i found in a draw.where do i get the tapes from? Quote
Teezdalien Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I started with vinyl. Played out a bit on CDJs but never felt that I needed to have my own. Last few years I've dabbled with Traktor and currently use ableton live but using that more for production stuff at the moment.I'm finding that I'm really going back to vinyl for DJing even now mainly because of rampart piracy and the amount of mediocre tunes being released now days, which also has a lot to do with piracy imo. But I also just feel that vinyl is a lot more fun. Quote
LabRat Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 control vinyl.. thankyou serato!doesnt count lol Quote
