djarmed Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 hey everyone just saw today that the 3.1 firmware for cdj900/2000 is available. Now this is what annoys me. the new firmware gives the cdj2000 a 0.1 bpm reading but the cdj900's dun get it!!Ok to start i dun really use the BPM counters anyway its more the principle of it all.i understand that the screen of the cdj900 differs greatly from the cdj2000 BUT their is still room on the screen to place a 0.1 reading for the BPM even if its just above the box that surrounds the BPM. Like stanton c324's have 0.1 BPM display for F sake.Everyone that owns the cdj900's payed around $1500 bucks a deck and in doing so you'd expect good support which they generally do but it seems with this new firmware update cdj900 owners are being punished in some sense. What everyone else think??I have had my bitch for today hahaha Quote
BeatLeSS Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 At work at the moment, will apply the firmware update when i get home and let you know, what else does it change ? Quote
CBG Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 The price gap is too big between the 900 and the 2000 for the difference in features. Maybe this helps justify it? Quote
BeatLeSS Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 In all reality, the only thing i find missing over the 2000's is hot cue's, which does stump some creativity. But doing a bit of homework on your tracks and pre-cue-pointing, with a roll could definitely do it.I like the idea of the one decimal place, didn't know the DJM800 can set that manually as well to keep it in check, this is something i'll definitely play around with a lot more. Skank Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 man welcome to the world of the cdj400, it was ment to be fully midi and digital but pioneer decided to cut it away from the rekordbox software (even tho it was admited by pioneer that the software would work with an update on the 400) purley for the resson it would take sales away from the 900 and 2000the reason the 900 is in the shadow of the 2000 is simple as it has happened in the past aka cdj 1000 cdj800 its all about maintaing cutomer satisfaction in the sence of that if you pay the best you get the best Quote
Slippy Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 yeah i got rekordbox also skank and was dissapointed and i had a feeling it would have been soemthing like that.hey while on topic, i have 400s but have never updated them, is it recommended that i do this does it change anything at all ? Quote
