News
In September last year, Diplo shocked fans announcing that the final Major Lazer album would be dropped in 2019. The ramifications of such a statement obviously produced more questions than answers – Would the group fully disband or just stop releasing music? Would there be a farewell tour à la Swedish House Mafia? When was it coming out? Who would be featured on it? Well, it’s 2019 now and we don’t know much more than we did in September. But at the very least, Major Lazer isn’t about to let the hype die down. The album is following in the very successful footsteps of the group’s first three albums: Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do, Free The Universe, and Peace Is The Mission. Peace Is The Mission was expected to be the A-side to an album rumored to be called Music Is The Weapon, but that rumor was scrapped in early 2018 after some bogus information was fed to Genius. The real title of the fourth Major Lazer album remains a mystery, as well as the tracklist or release date. All we can do now is wait and see what they have in store. In the meantime, listen to their latest Major Lazer Essentials here.
