News
Anastasia Kristensen is a name that has surfaced on a global scale in the past year or so. For the uninitiated, Anastasia was born in Moscow, but moved to Copenhagen when she was 15. It was there that she discovered the sounds of ">chip-tune music. The 8-bit sounds was what incepted electronic music into her mind. It was in Anastasia’s 20’s where she came across the craft of DJ whilst studying IT for health care. It was never her intention to take the skill onto the global circuit, but her career has progressed to the point where it is now in a very organic manner. One point of difference that Anastasia carries is her understanding of ballet. Her father wanted her to understand the artform. ‘I think it influenced me quite a lot in the sense of understanding rhythm and beauty, aesthetics, and giving me a general curiosity for the arts. I think that’s where it comes from, in general. An understanding of harmony and melody comes from ballet, too” says Anastasia. Now with 5 releases under her belt, Kristensen is set to make the long journey down to Australia for DJ sets in Sydney and Melbourne. We can all thank Melbourne events group Bunker for the tour.
