eggssell Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 i suck at genres, but im down with the sound.and figure i have a few tracks in this field. finishing up some work then will hit up some track names (ha ha i searched for the word jack on my songs and ended up w/ heaps of new jack swing. itll be back one day!!! ) Quote
eggssell Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 okay just to make sure i was on the right track i wikid it and it only talks about a dance style that came from chicago house and went on to influence rhythm nation (janet jackson) and vogue (madonna)??but listening to above it sounds like a standard house beat, then layed over with very cut up almost syncopated samples, and breaks are very soulful.i know the tack name didnt have to have jack in it, but the reason for the search was the first track that came to mind was amp jackers - jackin the disco beat (ive got the dylan holshausen mix)and the other one was Justin James - Make That Ass jack (ive got the house of cardz mix).this is an awesome track and prob was one ofmy faves for a while. in fact i like a lot of justin james.i gots others which i may post as they play. dont currently have a bin for this genre so would have to digg thru my house one. eggssell Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 and if you wanted to learn how to do the jacking dance move here is a tutorial it looks more normal by the end when there is music trust. Quote
JonnyB Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 havnt listned to any of tracks you mentioned cause im at work. But jacking house is closley assoscaited with wonky fidget and chicago house i think.Very bouncy basslines, lots of vocal shop, odd sounds used for the perc, and ussualy a pretty simple bassline/synth.Look up artists such as Hijack, Tom EQ, Potatoe Heads, kyle watson, all of these producers make jacking house as well as fidget so you may find some tracks of their nothing like jacking house.Your best bet is to look up the Hijack febuary 2009 mix and the October 2009 mix, both over an house of pretty much pure jacking hosue and also dabbled into a bit of bouncy fidget.Hijack is a god in my eyes haha. eggssell Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 cool ill check it. yeah i was figuring it verged on fidget (in the use of cut up samples and wonk) but a bit more traditional house beat (in the chicago/ detroit vein). Quote

JonnyB Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 This is jacking house in written form.In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,"Let there be HOUSE!"and house music was born."I am, you see,I amthe creator, and this is my house! And, in my house there is ONLY house music. But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!"And, you see, no one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all.House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body. And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music. And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper. And, in this house, the keeper is Jack. Now some of you who might wonder,"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don't make a difference in OUR House. And this is fresh.: Quote
