limewire sucks so much ass. You realise it's a gateway for spyware and adware don't you? It's pretty much written in the terms and agreements

if you are really tight for money, some sites offer genre bundles that are a bit cheaper. but then you get at least half being trakcs you wouldn't buy

just go to beatport or the like and fork out $1.49 a track. 10 tracks won't cost much and you'll have enough whilst you try and figure out basic mixing. Add a handful a week or a month and build your collection without breaking the bank

fucking sick of shitty noobs buying equipment, then stealing music to feed hobby.

the new CR2 ibiza 2010 album cost all of $18.99 on beatport, and you get about 62 tracks.

thats about 30cents a track.

start with albums like that, and you'll have heaps to mix with in no time.

Beatport, juno, traxxsource are always a fav of mine!

But i agree, piss off LimeWire... most of the time you download tracks and they are virus linked to porn anyways...and hey, if it'aint free porn..i dont want it! LOLLLLL.

beatport services me quite well. but theres the odd crazy mix or cover that you cant find only illegally. im all for paying for tracks. after all we bang for the artist right?

can anyone recommend other sites besides beatport traxsource and juno?? that are LEGAL

Posted

these are a few LEGAL sites

the mipi hasnt gotten back to me on what legal sites are alowed as they are re-looking at whats permitted to be used

some listed below could be banned but use them for now till you hear whats not allowed to be used from the mipi

http://www.beatport.com

http://www.atsdigital.com

http://www.trackitdown.net

http://www.bedrock.uk.net

http://www.audiojelly.com

http://www.audiolunchbox.com

http://www.digibag.com

http://www.edmdigital.com/catalog/

http://www.stompy.com

http://www.trax2burn.com

http://www.3beatrecords.co.uk

thats just a few LEGAL sites you can download from

if you have your dj licence and they decide to check what you buy

then you can show them where you buy your tracks from...

that will keep you guys out of trouble for now!

Oh PS see post Above for loads more (even the ones that are shown)

Thanks Dennis will look them, up my Gen y playlist needs a bit of updating.

There was a site where you could get downloads of all the top American club songs for the week.

Like a club weekly top 100 songs.

I lost it about two years ago.

Paying for tracks is a given for professionals and even enthusiasts.

1. You'll only purchase tracks you like, so your music collection will be free of crap

2. The artist you're supporting will make more tracks that tickle your fancy

3. You'll obtain tracks with high audio quality...none of this 128kbps mp3 business

anything between 128 and 320 is what is sold and a lot of sites will say that if they have it at 128 then sorry thats all they will give you

so unless you buy a 320 kbps song your good even itunes you cant use because its for non-commercial use and you have to pay slightly more for 320 than you do 128 anyway

dont believe me read the website terms and conditions

Sorry mate, but I don't really understand what you're trying to get across. What does the bitrate of a track have to do with needing a license to play it commercially?

mate read the back of a cd case and it will say its only for non-commercial use, erego the ppca license

i have enquired with a number of online music stores and all have said that as long as a) you paid for the track, B) you don't re-produce (remix and save) or c) distribute the track, you're in the green.
