$200 is a lot of money for a drum machine :P

Plug ins are pretty fuckin expensive these days, Im pretty sure NI battery is more than this.

Ableton drum racks are all Ill ever need, and in most cases they're way beyond external vsts, like this.

yeh i agree.

i tried to use guru once.... couldn't figur it out. only used it for about an hour then gave up.

Yeah I had a go at battery, absolute shite, but I guess once you use the native samplers and stuff in ableton its pretty hard to go to something else, ableton is just.... different.

CBG, you use impulse??? you need to improve your company my friend, trust me, so much better! 8)

i use impulse for hats usually, can get some really fidgety sounds going cus the way it alters the piano roll. to make it easier

Pretty much you grab a groove preset from the groove pool, chuck it in the groove thing (click the little wavy lines on the left) adjust quantize settings and random occurance and all that, then go to your clip and choose the groove from the dropbox on the bottom left and click commit, easy as, hang on ill post a good video tut in the glorious ableton fred 8)
