DavePulse
Brenton what would you say is better for recording voice at home for my podcast. A condensor mic or a dynamic? Im thinking condensor, but just making sureHey mate.. Id definitley go for a large diaphragm condenser for your application.. (if your concerned about background noise you should look into appropriate switchable polar patterns.. in particular cardioid and hyper cardioid should suit)hmmm. i wish i knew what you were talking about. The background noise is really giving me the shits!Brenton
PeterD
hmm.. ok so most microphones are directional or can switch between different variations of pick-up patterns.. which means they can reject sound from certain directions, dependant upon their placement and pick-up pattern. also stereo mic techniques can be used to cancel out background noise (if you have 2 mics) id also definitly look into gating your input aswell as checking that your NOT using a pad and maybe even just turning your levels down a little..? oh an tell your mate to lose the phone when recording! LOL hope this helps a little..
