Skank Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 ive decided im gunna give vdj a go , has anyone made a vdj mix before or have any reasources or hints? Quote
LabRat Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 ive done a bit before. awesome fun! i can only say, use Resolume. its not exactly "user friendly" but its one of the best! Arkaos is good if you dont want to take it seriously. check out Arkaos and Resolume online. i think Numark may make a VJ controller for Arkaos Quote
SourceRaver Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I agree, Resolume appears to be the 'industry standard'.These guys are really friendy and share a lot of information:http://vjzoo.com/ab.htmThey have also created what amounts to starter manual for beginners:http://vjzoo.com/downloads/VJzooPWLhand ... upload.pdfEnjoy! wazza Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 cant you also get a plugin for serato?yes... serato video sl ...works the same as the mixvibes pro..so you will need a midi controller with a midi crossfader or the TTm 57 sl mixer Quote
eggssell Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 here is the kentaro thing. well this is what is palying behind him on the screen. but im sure there is a video where you can see him playing on the two cd players (ill keep looking). mixing starts at 0.50 Quote
eggssell Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 oh yeah not that this is any help to your question skank oops. i guess i was just saying i think you can do it with two dvd players and a mixer. Quote
eggssell Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 oh its called a dvj. cant find the kenaro one. but here is some other japanese dj's hifana using it. you can see the screen in the background. which is being controlled by the guy on the left. guy on the right is banging out on an mpc. better seen on 2nd vid.EDIT: ha ha and if i'd watched pulse beats clip of dj yoda (who is definitely not dj yodafrog) i would have already seen its a pioneer dvj. J0rdz Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 If your after some good VJ stuff, check out Coldcut. These guys pretty much pioneered the whole VJ/DJ cross-over with the Pioneer VJ mixer/DVJs pretty much created due to them. They developed Vjamm, which many hold responsible for laying the groundwork for a little application now called Ableton. There's heaps of reading out there if your at all interested. Great to see where it's all come from.Bit of info on them here: http://www.ninjatune.net/ninja/artist.php?id=3 Quote

Jaz Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Gold coasts sin city DJ does it, but from what I could see he was combining nightlife with cdj's Quote
