Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, State of Mind are the duo of Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins. Beginning their careers in 2004, they released their debut cult hit 12” ‘Sunking’ on Total Science’s CIA label.

Notoriously prolific producers, the State of Mind lads have gone on to release on a broad spectrum of labels since then. Material can be found on the shelves via Total Science's CIA Recordings, Teebee's Subtitles Records, Friction's Shogun Audio, Futurebound’s Viper label, Doc Scott’s 31 Records, Concord Dawn’s Uprising imprint, Bad Company, Obsessions, and more.

They have also released a full CD ‘Take Control’ on Uprising Records, and album that garnered them the publicly voted award of ‘Breakthrough Artists 2006’ on the B-Net radio network in NZ. Yet even this impressive list has not satisfied State of Mind’s creative appetite. In 2007 they launched their own label SOM Music, featuring the talents of Chris Su, Black Sun Empire, Switzerland’s Axiom, Trei, the Upbeats and more. Their 2nd album is due to be released on SOM music early 2009.

State Of Mind also host the hugely popular ‘Next Level” 95BFM drum n bass show (Saturday 9-11pm NZ time, online at www.95bfm.com) every two weeks (with DJ Formatt handling the other weeks).

FICTION

[Rollerz / Inbound]

Fiction aka Simon, a pioneer of Adelaide’s drum & bass scene, began dropping jungle back in '94 and quickly moved on to grab his first residency at the weekly night "Rewind". Since then he has risen to become one of Australia’ s longest serving and most respected drum & bass DJs.

He has supported just about every international DJ to grace Australia over the last 13 years, including the likes of Andy C, Grooverider, Fabio, Friction, Bailey, Bukem, Marky, Calibre, Fierce, Noisia, Teebee, Klute, D Bridge, just to name a few as well as regularly headlining interstate events.

In 98 fiction formed “Inbound” with his close friend Filter . Over the years they have become renowned for hosting some of the most unforgettable drum n bass shows in Adelaide, featuring the best of local and international talent, which has become the pinnacle of the scene. Their success paved the way for them to open what is recognized to be Australia’s only all drum & bass store titled “Inbound Drum & Bass”.

Fiction also hosts Adelaide’s number one weekly d n b radio show “Rollerz” on fresh fm 92.7 tune in wed nights www.freshfm.com.au from 8pm cst.
