CBG Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I'll try to keep this short and polite as possible.ADJF members need to provide MORE feedback to those who request it.This includes DJ sets and production peices especially. Producers work very hard to make that little 5min song and they love hearing feedback from others. Even it's just a post saying: "Great" etc. You don't have to analyze every phrase or every transition. Just have a listen and let the poster know. It's demoralising to post a song and then see that its only had 4 plays in a 24hr period.Instead of one reply from the same 4-5 people. Let's have 10 or 20, from everyone else, or maybe even 667? Sorry to sound like a sook, but it's really important for us to do this and maintain it. Or else members will be driven away to other forumsin search of feedback and they may not come back. And give +rep! PeaceChris Quote
eggssell Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 i agrees (hey prior to march i use to write reviews!!).i think that there should be like a week before bumping though, because im sure like most during the 9 to 5 we are behind firewalls so can't check soundcloud etc. then on weeknights where there isn't chores (groceries, family commitments, board meetings), there is still cooking dinner and cleaning up. let alone trying to actually get sometime on the decks. i rection i prob log on from home maybe one night a week, hence why most my posts are from work.i know i gots plenty to catch up on from my holidays. but yeah i think this forum is a great oppurtunity to share thoughts and there have been some crackers (cairo i still had yer EP in my playlist for my roadtrip, after dark rocks) Quote
CBG Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Ok, yeah that's fair enough. Bumping doesn't have to occur to regularly Quote
CBG Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 well it was your thread that made me post this one. Really shouldn't have to bump a thread on a forum with 668 members, should be a constant flow of replies throughout the day and night. It's bad because if you don't receive feedback, you don't want to give it to others. Then it becomes a vicious chain Quote
Tomy Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 very true. it is a time thing alot of the.... time. i think i might set aside like 20mins a weekend to go over production and maybe a mix or 2 Quote
CBG Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Yeah, mixes are hard. Songs are easy IMO. Providing you are near a pc. Quote
Cupe Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Really shouldn't have to bump a thread on a forum with 668 members, should be a constant flow of replies throughout the day and night. word. lets get it pumpin. reply to everything guys Quote
ChevChelios Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I try my best, but a lot of the time Im quite tired or hungover hence why my last two feedbacks were utter shite Quote
DjNikko Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 point well made my friend... i do try to comment everything i see Quote
CBG Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 the funny thing is, all the people that have posted here, are the ones that actually comment lol. With the exception of eggshell who has a decent excuse. Ohh and Jonny hasn't graced us yet.Everyone else!! What's your excuse? Quote
JonnyB Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 CBG and chev should both be + rep'd the manage to give me feedback on pretty much all my tracks on soundcloud as well as on the threads i make here.it did get to the point were i was giong to start commenting on my own threads giving myself feedback:(.as for mix's.....i rarely listen to mixes let alone analize them, and well i probaly have the time to, but i cant sit there for 30minutes thinking about what he is doing behind the decks, i put a mix on, and go do something so its playing in the backround, i barely notice it.ive been slack this last week as well. ill pick my game up Quote
JonnyB Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 its not a mole...... its a beauty mark! * runs off crying Quote
Cupe Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You can now receive rep by posting.I'm not going to mention how many posts it takes to get a point of rep, but you will notice you rep increasing the more you post This forum is heavily moderated, so spamming won't help your cause (shit posts will be deleted).
