Skank Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 how would i aproach a mainstream radio station as in one you can find with a stereo in your car and get a gig mixing?any ideas Quote
CBG Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 hmm. depends on the stature of the station.if its a pretty big station then best to get in w a presenter allready working there. or volunteer there n work ur way up.if its a small station, just ring, they will guide u from there. just b upfront, always say u want to volunteer. money is scarce in small time/community radio Quote
cc Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 hey,i work in radio ...i would go and try a communtiy radio station, you are in sydney right...try Fbi or 2ser. Most stations hold annoucer training and you can sign up for that, after you have done this you can then get an idea together for a show and submit a demo to Programs manager. Maybe about an hour long and make sure it showcases you...let me know if you need more info happy to helpcc Quote
eggssell Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 yeah ive thought about i a couple of times esp. while at uni.at fbi there is kinda a lot of people who volunteer about who want in with an on air gig, and i think they try to promote from within. so prob best to volunteer.at 2ser im pretty sure i read somewhere where you can send in your ideas for a show and if they like it, then theyll check you for your skills.all of this was based on things i came across on the interweb, so possibly believable...
