JonnyB Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 yo Cupe, did you manage to read my post before? for mastering are you expecting stems? or just master the track as a whole. because i cant open my projects anymore Quote
ChevChelios Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 For mastering people want usually about 6-4 db of headroom, just the final WAV with nothing on the master. Sometimes people send stems for professional mixdowns if they dont think theirs is good enough, but you get charged a shit load. Can we do that Denno?? Cause I reckon my track could be mixed way better seeing as I dont have monitors and such. Quote
Cupe Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 what postjust send a hello to that email, and they'll tell you what they wantand Chev, this is proper mastering, no costs. that's the point of running it as a comp winners are grinners Quote
Beniii Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 ha ha thanks heaps :-)Did the limited physical release get the go ahead? Quote
Cupe Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 I'm not sure, I don't have all the files (I'm at work)I had some version of it. I had to swap backwards and forwards some tracks with the studio as alot of people didn't submit properly, or had broken links etc.Studio will contact you Quote
ChevChelios Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 and Chev, this is proper mastering, no costs. that's the point of running it as a comp winners are grinnersYeah but I was talking mixing, I've seen M.E.s charging like 100 bucks extra for them to mix your track, I just wanna know if ol' mate is willing to sit down and mix our tracks for free I shall email him Quote
Cupe Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Yeah but I was talking mixing, I've seen M.E.s charging like 100 bucks extra for them to mix your track, I just wanna know if ol' mate is willing to sit down and mix our tracks for free The agreement and conditions of the competition is that your mastering is done for free.Nothing else about it! JonnyB Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 ok so mastering = the final mixdown of the mastertrack?and mixing = the mixdown of each individual track/stem? Quote
CBG Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 ^generally yes.It depends on how badly the song has been mixed. Some mastering requires individual tracks. But most mastering just occurs within the master channel Quote
Beniii Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 If it involves the individual tracks its not mastering...Its a mixdown then mastering... Quote
JonnyB Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 what happened with this release?i never sent my track to get mastered because i couldnt open FL to open my project to get to the master channel and get -3db headroom, so they would of had a shit fight trying to master it. Quote
ChevChelios Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 A full release takes a fair while to finish up, keep yo pants on fool Quote
Cupe Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 The studio is awaiting all files to be sent for mastering - you may want to at least email them with some info? And yea, things are moving along, but it's taking some time. It's a full album mastering and release nahmean Quote
