News Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Indie Alternative artist Tom Walker performed his soul driven songs with pure honesty and powerful musicality. I walked into Tom Walker’s Bowery Ballroom show having no idea what to expect. I of course knew his top track Leave A Light On and it’s Cheat Codes remix but I knew little to nothing of his other tracks, the way he would perform, or the type of crowd I’d be walking into. After going in blindly I can confidently walk away saying that Tom Walker puts on a hell of a show. He’s a natural performer and his backing band certainly helped electrify his performance. I was incredibly pleased to see that his energy flowed throughout the room for the entire show. Photo by Maurice Keiser (@photograffitich)Standing in the front of the crowd I heard a group of fans behind me singing along to every single word of each song and the excitement had me enthusiastic about the show. All around, people were very welcoming and it was easy to see that they were there simply for the honest and raw music that Walker was sharing. He had an incredible balance of soul and resonance in his voice. There was grit that came from a hard rock side but also sweet depth that he drew from within. Walker’s versatility was impressive and captivating to new fans such as myself and to loyal fans that knew every word. He shared meaningful stories with the audience making everyone feel like they were a personal friend of his. This intimacy is such a admirable quality that Walker was able to expose to his fans, the ability to display how relatable and similar his ups and downs are in life to those of his fans. A heartfelt and harmonious evening was presented by Tom Walker that August 21st. I recommend catching Tom Walker on tour while you can. It’s the perfect concert for a first date or a thirtieth date. Walker’s music and performance works for any occasion due to his malleable and likable sound, and it’s easy listening characteristics. Check out Tom Walker here.
