i had a meeting with promoters last night and some owners of city / valley venues and they all said that your idea was junk because you a trying to get rid of extra hours of trading.

Clubs work off money, not just there for the hell of it.

I've had enough of this convo. Your obviously not going to listen to me or anyone else.

i back this 100%.

weve been playing alot of closing gigs recently (4 till 6am), and we were told to hold the dance floor for as long as possible and make people buy drinks, because if we play crap, people leave, no one buys drinks and there is no point of the club being open.

having no alchole after 3 is silly.

posted this on facebook. taged industry people in it.

It has come to my recent attention thought Ausdjforums.com that Andy C from Fuze Digital is joining the fight in protest against the lock out in QLD.

Sadly he’s taking this fight upon himself. With what seems to be the most crazy / stupid idea I’ve heard of yet.

QLD government proposal; weekend lockout at 2am closer of all venues at 4am

Andy C's idea : the government to remove the 3am lock out but for club and venues shut off the bars at 3am and serve no more alcohol, basically after 3am no more alcoholic and be severed in the venue.

Which will effectively result in an 1 hour loss of trading if venues shut at 4am or 2 hours loss of trading is venues shut at 5am.

I myself do not see the logic in this as it will result in profit loss and have been arguing with him over the past few weeks to get him to stop pushing this idea.

seeing as my opinion "doesn't matter" to Andy C I’m putting it to the Promoters, DJs & venue owners for support and feed back to send to him t get him to stop. Seeing as he’s setting up meetings with QLD gov. peeps.

Please leave a comment with your thoughts for or against, or email me tomy.rd@gmail.com

Thank you.

Anton Provan (dj) Against - The main problems with close time is not the violence and the drinking.

This is my main reason im against it;

1. Most DJ's/Barstaff are uni students, only way they can fund them self through textbooks ect is from these night jobs, close bars at 3am, peoples hours may still be cut.... See More

He is more agreeing with the government by saying lets just cut the booze off at 3am, the booze and violence will still go one no matter what time they close, if it does'nt in fact increase.

Peace

Todd 'tenji' Gibson (dj) definately not a lot of thought gone into his idea... whether the place closes at three, or stop serving drinks at 3, its still just as good as closing to the bar staff, they arent gonna get rostered on for the extra two hours to stand there scratching their asses... if he takes this to parliment it will reflect horribly on the rest of us.

Only been up for a few minutes.

Todd 'tenji' Gibson will just make us look indecisive and unorganised... we have already lodged an alternative plan to combat the issue, which is as i see it, the only plan of attack that will work long term. individuals with their own un-thoughtout plans aiming for hero status are only gonna work against us...

we got a plan, a great one, and its the only one we've got a chance with, so lets unite, back the plan, and save our nightlife.

Mitch 'Biggy Mitz' Spurrier (dj/promoter)

"Agreed if we start to compramise we look weak and defeated. Secondly, what a disgraceful compramise! Let's be honest here, if the bars shut at 3, you may as well shut the club at 3 because no one will be sticking around to sober up when they have alcohol at home. Also, do you really thing clubs will stay open till 5 IF THEY ARE SHUTTING OFF THEIR TILLS??? Really mate, your idea is an epic disgrace to the dj/promotion comunity. All you have to do is think about this... Would Woolworths trade untill 8 if you couldn't buy their products after 6??? Please stop pushing this horrible embarrasing 'option', because it's not an option AT ALL, it's signing your own death warrant. "

i want, from you andy, names of the clubs and the person you spoke to there and also the poeple your speaking with at the QLD gov.

I will interview them and record it all.

then we'll see how great your idea is.

I agree with Mitch, but his analogy was pretty poor. There is more to do in a club than drink.

But yeah, closing off the bar is suicidal. Should be changed to something like not serving heavy drinks or something. Still a shit idea

Hey Fuze this is now the second forum you have come to speaking the same rubbish again getting no one to agree with you.

Why is it that you refuse to unite with everyone else and insist on doing your own thing? This is starting to feel like you care more about the personal attention you get from being in the middle of it rather than get a positive solution for everyone.

Zach from QLD Locked out tried to get you to work with them on ITM but you refused, so now you come here and again get rebuffed. When will you learn?

This isnt about individuals, its about EVERYONE coming together. Going solo just puts everyone at risk, you have clearly watched too many Rambo movies.

Ive read back through your posts (with difficulty) and I must say your plan is kinda rubbish, no club is going to stop serving drinks at 2am or 3am (whatever you said) and then still leave their doors open until the wee hours of the morning, because there not going to be making any money what so ever, in fact the clubs will most likely loose money......

You need to listen to everyone else here is trying to help you, you also need to realise your all working towards the same goal in the end? this is a group effort, you need to stop thinking your plan is right, which clearly has been proven to be rubbish, and formulate a new plan, stop telling everyone at least you have a plan and work with them to make a better one?

1 sercuirty guard costs roughtly $50/hr.

electricity to run a club would be insane (lights, dj equpiment, bar, fridges, computers the list goes on)

Dj's anywhere between 50 - 1000's per hour

Staff again min $20 / hr plus ectxa for working past 12am

And you think that you can make enough money for that by selling soft drinks?

IF you want us to take you seriously post up names of the people & venues they work for OR give us some sort of evidence and not just you on a talk back radio show in the middle of the night.

Like Alie said ITMer's have already said they are against your "idea" and it seems that everyone on ADJF is the same..... so why are you still trying?

and not talking about just selling soft drinks

some partys that held at the rna with no alcohol

ive stayed out of this one but now im anoyed

i manage a busy night club venue and if you think that stopping selling drinks will some how make us more money you need to take a step into the industry to reacces your knowledge of hoe pubs and clubs work, unless you have poker machines and i mean bulk no less then 30 and at least 20 of them being played after the end of alcho service you are in the red immediate for most large venues you need your bar staff to be turning over around $50- $100 a minuet over your busiest 4 hours to be turning a profit

at the end of the night people come out to DRINK and even with the best entertainment in the world you would still be hard pressed to keep your venue full when everyone's alcohol fueled honeymoon is coming to an end and the best you can do for them is an orange juice

I know you haven't done your research, becuase your "Idea" doesn't WORK

I like to think i've been pretty pleasent though this thread but your starting to really push my patience. The fact that you have were Fired from switch1197am and also banned / disliked on ITM forums is not helping your case at all.

I think to get any credibilty on this issue you need to name names of who you have been / going to talking to / get offical written and signed statements from them or shut the fuck up.
