DJing for old farts.

Bit of a dilemma up here on the gold coast. I set up a old farts group called Blokes Lounge  in 2014 with a few old blokes who have nothing to do all day and now we have 70 plus members.

I started DJing at our parties and now that we have outgrown houses to have christmas parties at, The committee that I am no longer a member of, have had a christmas party at a restaurant that was not well received. The blokes seem to like eating at cheap eats out shit creek like Mudgeeraba but the  wives like my music and like to dance.

How can I tell these fuckers that house parties with me djing are the way to go and forget the sideways meal deals  at Red Dragon Palace without me sounding like I'm big noting myself.

Hey Cupe can you bury me with a reply please. Gave the committee a example of a forum we are proposing and sent them a link to ADJF as an example Realised I was shit canning them here re christmas party and if they see it they will not be amused. They know my forum name.

I found myself in a similar situation at the bowls club. They were having a sad because they couldn't sign new members and asked for a "youthful" perspective. They took no ideas on. I moved to a new club and they're embracing change to the fullest and it's a really good atmosphere to be apart of. 

 

I'd say this committee is stuck in their old ways and are too afraid to jump off the fence. It might be worth getting the members to speak up and put their voices forward. Most committee members are usually an absolute waste of air and are only up there for the bragging rights. Get the voice of the members heard and it should be enough to force their arms. The second the committee find out they're not going to pay they'll make changes

Contact ya local Lions/Rotary clubs, hire their halls, and have em cook the fucking snags for donations during the day. Keep the hall hired throughout the night and the BBQ's running. 

Or get the bowls clubs on side for drinks and old fart bowls with the gear cranking outside. Bowls clubs have enough real estate to be pretty loud without disturbing neighbours.
