Mobile Mirror Balls...

Hi Guys,
In the many years I've been DJing, I've never been asked for a Mirror ball to be used - but I've got a gig in 3 months time, they want a big mirror ball...

Do they make them for mobile DJs? I've seen the big roof mounted ones before, but do they make anything decent for a mobile DJ? something portable?

I've seen the rotating LED "Mirror Balls" - but the videos I've seen don't cut it...

There's definitely stuff out there. Probably checking in with your local hire place will be best place to start. You will need to hang it somewhere and to get the best effect out of it it'll be better if it's rotating but if there's nowhere decent to hang I can't see it being worth the hassle and I agree with you on those LED ones - bit garbage.

Yeah, I was wondering if it's something I should add to the Lighting box... I was mentally just thinking of something I could probably mount up high on a T-pole - but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how it'd hang or how to shine a pin-light on it! Meh... too hard!

Yeah throw it in the too hard basket haha I'm not saying you shouldn't do it but most of the times in these house party situations it gets a bit more complicated than it should. Unfortunately, those LED ones are the best to have at these things.

Bought a 300mm mirror ball for about 100.00 weighed about 5 kilos. Would be a problem to hang and stress my rotor so took it back

My opinion mirror balls are dull compared to laser lights, see them around but next to useless in large venues.
