Cupe
It’s no secret anymore: REZZ is a serious force to be reckoned with. She’s making some of the most complex, intriguingly dark tech-house and midtempo out there and she’s caught the eyes (and ears) of the industry’s most renowned tastemakers, most notably, deadmau5. Linking with the same label that backed the likes of Feed Me and Skrillex early on in their careers, REZZ has found a fitting home at mau5trap, marked by the release of her most recent EP, Something Wrong Here. Now, following the release, REZZ has shared her debut music video, which ties together the emerging 21-year-old producer’s aesthetic flawlessly. Her music dominates a convoluted middle-ground between party-primed house and sinister, warehouse-ready techno, and the music video for “Paranoid” embodies that dichotomy perfectly. The video depicts the outcome of what a psychotic episode would be like in the middle of a crowded house party. The imagery that “Paranoid” already invokes in the listener’s mind is totally affirmed as hypnotic hallucinations begin to swirl to the score of REZZ’s stomping, underground tech gem in her debut music video.
