Cupe Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Denon DJ just announced the MC7000 controller for Serato DJ at DJ Expo 2016. It's a four-channel controller that comes with two USB ports onboard for connecting up to two laptops, two 6" touch-sensitive jogwheels with 16 performance pads, and dedicated key sync and key change controls all housed in a rugged chassis. It's also compatible with Serato DVS for those who want to use timecode vinyl or CDs. The MC7000 looks a lot like the MCX8000 minus the screens and USB thumb drive inputs: you've still got the performance pads and platters, four-deck control, and even needle search. It adds in some nifty features that don't appear on the MCX8000 though, like twin USB jacks for back to back DJ sets, and the aforementioned dedicated key sync and key select controls that let you match the musical keys of songs or change them on the fly for more hands-on harmonic mixing performances. The Denon DJ MC7000 is smaller than the flagship MCX8000, which would appeal to DJs looking for a more compact controller that's easier to take to the gig. It's well-specified, and looks to be a top-shelf controller for DJs who prefer to use a laptop running Serato DJ. Quote
