Tomy
Can you speed fade in Ableton? if not how can i get this effect?
ChevChelios
Not that I know of, you could do it by playing around with the pitch and tempo to get that effect, maybe slight filtering, but it would be a pain. I think I've seen a plug for that maybe called tape stop or something, maybe not though, haha.Thats dope
Tomy
Such a good feature. shame its not on ableton yet. i though about doing it with the tempo but that wopuld suck too much warping involved to get it back in time etc.
ChevChelios
yeah with audio it would suck, but it wouldn't be to bad with midi.
Tomy
so operator or simpler might be the way to go then..... interesting. i'll have a play over the weekend i think.
ChevChelios
yeah definately, take whatever audio it is and chuck it in simpler or sampler, still take a fair bit of automation but you should be able to get something similar. I might have a try myself
ChevChelios
Ok I figured it, take your sample, loop or whatever, put it into sampler, go to the pitch/osc tab in the sampler, turn on glide and put glide time to one second or something. A quick low to high held note gives you the effect, but it doesn't stay in time unfortunately, however you can play around with the glide time so, say if you have a drum loop, you can get it to sync back up on the 3rd beat of the bar or the first beat of the next bar, wherever you want it really, you just need to have the glide time right. Zoom in on the arrangement view to see how many seconds/milliseconds it is to a certain beat and BANG, bobs your uncle
