jimmyd
Hey mate,Yeah, not a bad mix. Your skills are fine, seemed to be pretty tight throughout (only a couple of minor slips, round the 9 minute area for instance). Not really my type of music though, so not sure how much I can help you out haha.. Prob just have to sacrifice your integrity a little to play a mainstream club Good luck! JonnyB
did you do this mixtape in ableton?
jimmyd
So yeah, finished listening to it.. Would say that you should work a little bit more on constantly monitoring - the beat slipped a bit a few times. Also, try to develop a better sense for what tracks will work together, as it did sound like your track selection was a bit all over the place at times.Otherwise, not a bad job at all! JonnyB
yeh man, your song selection wasnt the greatest. with tracks like heads will roll they are better off left played by them selves untill you mix out of it. i think its because of just the sounds being used in the song, like tis got high ends mid range and lowends all for the main bass/leads.if you want to play 2 tracks over each other, try getting 1 realy bassy track and one that isnt much bassline at all (say raven V pon de flor) raven has all the bass and pon de flor is that high end mid range melody payed over the top.to show you what i mean. check out these guys, they are my 2 mates the last song in their profile is of what i just explained with raven and pon de flor.this isnt a rule though, just something that works. http://www.myspace.com/slipperywhenwetdjs

NickGalea
Less is more dude..this would rock in a commercial club anyways.. it is all fine.any one can mix these days.. just make sure your levels are spot on..when doing a demo that people listen to at home mash ups & out of key stuff will sound horrible.keep that in mind.mixed in key helps when doing a demo also the hardest part about dj'ing is reading a room.. mixing is only one part of it.. playing cool tunes & some big tunes is the key with out loosing the floor.anyways good work keep it up.
