OxyKon
never had a problem with ads before, sure there is usually 1 or 2 but they've never bothered me, so far this morning they have gone but literally just on the ADJF homepage there was about 6-7 up and down it, can't explain it

Can you post a screenshot?I can Prob help via teamviewerEdit: sounds similar to what someone from work was dealing with yesterday...yeah i kinda wish i did take a screen shot cause as of this morning it's been back to normal, can't explain it, i did do a system update 1 point last night so not sure if that helped, at the time of my OP i was like WTF, did the update, saw it still had ads then closed my net browser down for the night, next day, was fine

BeatLeSS
Ye, it's like a Browser Hijacker. Scans the page for keywords and injects ads into them. We get calls about similar shit happening all the time.Do you have any way to view recently installed programs or go through a programs list and uninstall anything that looks/sounds dodgy. SolDios
Check your chrome addons too, Google has no problem with addons that inject addware for some reason.
OxyKon
i don't use chrome

OxyKon
ok i think i solved the problem, i found Adware Medic and within 1min of scanning it found the virus, removed it, everything seems to be find now
BeatLeSS
Yeah it's a hijack dude, it's injected into your browsers and scans the page for keywords then links ads to them. I see it all the time on windows pc's man. There's gotta be some kind of program installed that's associated with this and some kind of malware scanning program (quick google suggested clamxav) to remove it. Otherwise you're up for a format.EDIT: Just seen your post. Carry on then.
OxyKon
yeah i tried clamxav but it didn't seem to be doing anything, thanks for the help though
