Saturday 29th November, Soapbox Events & Chinese Laundry return with another load of LNDRY with Maribou State (UK) & Pedestrian (UK).

Maribou State can be found spearheading the new wave of british producers. Having realesed remix’s for the likes of Fatboy Slim, Crookers and even a sneaky bootleg of Lauryn Hill these guys are showing no sign of slowing down. These guys are an act not to be missed so make sure you come down and see why names such as Diplo, Pete Tong and Bonobo are fans.

Uk based producer Pedestrian is a notorious sound wanderer and dance floor master. Ranked in K Magazines ’10 Bass Music Artists to watch out for in 2012, Pedestrian has released tune after tune on labels such as Push & Run, 2nd Drop, Brownswood and Metalheadz.

Biography

Two years ago, Maribou State had just been signed off the back of a mix they put online. Now, they’re about to release an official remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You’, count Bonobo, Pete Tong and Diplo as fans and have found themselves spearheading a new wave of fresh British producers.

In 2011 the duo were discovered by Fat! Records and put out their debut release, the ‘Olivia’ EP. A bootleg of Lauryn Hill followed, which racked up thousands of plays on YouTube and got airtime on Radio 1, 1Xtra and XFM.

Their watershed moment came when they signed to Southern Fried in 2012, first releasing a remix of Crookers’ ‘Hummus’, which hit the top of the Hype Machine chart, and then the ‘Native’ EP, which was given 10/10 by Mixmag. Next single ‘Scarlett Groove’ (featuring Saint Saviour) grabbed more radio play and a remix of Ultraista’s ‘Gold Dayzz’ got over 200,000 SoundCloud plays and #1 on Hype Machine again.

This year has seen Maribou State drop ‘Mask’ on Catz ‘N Dogz’s Pets imprint as well as finishing off their new single for Southern Fried. Right now, they’re preparing for festival and headline shows and are putting together a full live set with a tour of America booked for September

Pedestrian is a UK based electronic DJ and producer. A notorious sound wanderer, sonic sculptor and dancefloor master, Pedestrian’s intricate, crystallised production and an instinct for DJ sets that can captivate any club has seen him ranked in K Magazine’s ‘10 Bass Music Artists To Watch Out For In 2012’. And with very good reason.

With universally strong releases on Push & Run, 2nd Drop, Brownswood and Metalheadz, Pedestrian (also known as Jack Sibley) flows over genre constraints with sounds that submerse the home listener and entrance the heads on any dancefloor with penetrating basslines, crystallised synths, organic audio sampling and crackling melodic harmonies.

His first 12” ‘Hei Poa’ on Push & Run garnered massive critical acclaim, lauded for its high production value and a dancefloor impact only enhanced by an ethereal, hypnotic quality. Support has been coming in strong from luminaries such as Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Commix, Ifan Dafydd, and Huw Stephens, and his remixes for Gang Colours, Emeli Sandé’ and a massive Lauryn Hill bootleg with close associates Maribou State have been creating considerable hype.

In 2013, Pedestrian’s dreamy tune “Hoyle Road” claims the historic second release slot on the legendary James Zabiela’s Born Electric imprint.
