Reset Router/modem

How often do you reset/power cycle your router and/or modem?

Power cycle - To switch off electric power to a device, then switch it on again.

sometimes i have to do it a few times a week

my net is retarded (i think it has alot to do with a shit phone cord)

sometimes i'll wake up in the morning and the net is dead until i cycle or AT LEAST restart it

or my speed will be like 5mb DL instead of 15mb and I have to jostle the cords or retstart/cycle

should get a new phone cord if yours aint a hassle to change it around. cost about 10 bucks for a couple of meters. i have a 15 meter one coming from the garage into my room with computer/router

My modem and wireless router has been on for about 3 years.

Not game to touch the things.

Some procedure is required, disconnect power supplies, wait five seconds. plug in wireless and then modem. Sometimes it wont work. Call Optus,

get a lecture that they wont support wireless.

If it works, dont fix it.

If you have VOIP then its not advisable

voip is what 9/10 isp's are providing like this bob that iinet has (just different names)

they never get reset because its standard and you dont need to reset your modem

if you are having trouble buy a new one thats voip!!
