We knew it was only a matter of time, and it’s happened: Pioneer has launched a digitally focused, USB-only media player, or “multi player” as the company is calling this new class of device.

The XDJ-1000 features a 7″ full-colour touchscreen, full integration with the company’s rekordbox platform, an on-screen Qwerty keyboard for browsing, plus wave zoom, beat counter, phase meter, key analysis, quantised beat-jump and loop move, the ability to load tracks over USB or WiFi, and full Midi compatibility including Serato DJ HID integration.

It will retail from late November 2014 at an SRP of €999. Find out more about it over on Pioneer’s website, and here’s a hero video from DJ Pedestrian:

$999 price tag isnt too bad... but good step in the right direction.

long as no one treats the xdj-1000's like shit, they'd be a pretty good addition for anyone

The price seems ok. Hopefully it's the same by the time it hits Aussie shores

Apparently from what I've heard they will be 1.3k in Australia

sounds about right

side note, why would this be released as "Pioneer" though? I'm assuming the sale hasn't completely been finalised but i would've thought this would've been marketed under the new company or something

Think they would still be keeping the pioneer name with the acquisition

Gota love that fucking import tax

Seriously for 1k each this would have been such a good deal.

Can't justify them at that price point. Especially considering the 900 NXS are only $200 more.

I think the guys using time code may panic a little but I've heard you can use the time code file on USB and it work just fine. Can anyone confirm that?

Yer you can rip the time code cd to wav files and just use that

Yer you can rip the time code cd to wav files and just use that

so you can then use time code to control a timecode wav

is it just me or is timecode redundant?

don't all the pioneer decks work natively (via USB) with serato/traktor now anyway?

Time code isn't redundant as of yet. I still know a few guys that use it

unless it's necessary (ie. old tech like cdj1000s), why wouldn't you just plugin the decks to the laptop and go down that road?

obviously i'm talking about a club setting, but if it's at home, then naturally anything goes!

Well I've been using hid now as well as rekordbox but some people are stuck in their old ways. It took me ages to jump across to traktor and even rekordbox. It's worth swapping over because it's a handy system
