Cupe Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 The packaging that accompanies Aphex Twin's upcoming album Syro features tons of text that puts an emphasis on transparency. Richard D. James spells out exactly how much it cost to make the album, for example. He also included a list of every piece of gear used on the record. That list surfaced today on Reddit; that's what it looks like above (via FACT).Over on the modular synth forum Muff Wiggler, one member worked out the sleeve's code, which indicates which piece of gear was used on which track. In an interview about Syro's packaging, Ian Anderson, the founder of the Designers Republic (who put together the album artwork and packaging) said the lists tell "the reader everything and nothing about the creation of what I hear was an intensely personal album".Here is the list of gear:A Designs ReddiA Designs PacificaADT Toolkit x4Akai S950HXCAKG Contact MicsAlice MixerAllen Heath Mix WizardAllen Organ Spring ReverbAMS RM16API 3124+API 550AAPI 550A origAPI 550B API 560API 8200AARP 2500Atari 1040 + Midi Expansions + HXCAvedis E27Bode VocoderBoss BX16Boss BX8Boss GE7Buzz Audio Arc1.1Calrec MinimixerCalrec RQP3200Casio FZ10 + FZ20M + NXCChandler Delay BlackChandler Delay CreamChandler Zoner LimiterCirklon SequencerCourt Acoustics GraphicCrumar Bit01 WhiteCwejman RES4 x3Cwejman VC06Disklavier MKIV Pro CustomDPA 4052Drawner Stereo Gate Dytronics FS1Elysia MpressorEML 101. moddedEMS 2000 VocoderEMT 140 Plate/Stereo/TubeEMT 240 Gold FoilEMT 252 FXEMT 258 x4 FiltersEnsoniq ASR10 Eventide DSP4000Eventide H3000 DSEEventide H949 x4Focusrite ISA110 Orig x8Focusrite ISA430Fulltone Tape EchoHarrison 32EQ GR500HAT Mechanical DrumsHelios x2Intellijel RubiconJH ARP Quadra PhaserJH Storm Tide FLanger x2JH Tau PhaserJomox Sunsyn V1 x2Kawai K5000RKlark Teknik DN780Korg DS8Korg Minipops7 Midi. sepoutsKorg PS3200Korg PS3300 x3Lexicon 480LLexicon PCM70LPGLynx Aurora 16Make Noise DPOMarion PROSynth x2Meinl Water UDUMicmix DynaflangerMicmix Masteroom 2Midas Venice DeskMidimoogs x2Modular Systems/EurorackMoog Memory LintronicsMIT EnsembleMum & Dad VocalsMusicmaid Claptrap x4Nagra IV-SNeotek Elite 64 Channel CustomNeumann V473 x2Oberheim OBX, rackedOberheim Modular SEMs, rackedOrla DSE24Pearl SC40Pearl Syncussion, racked/midi/mod x4Plugins, variousPultec EQP-1A3Quad Eight 248 x2Quantec Room SimulatorRetro Instruments PowerstripRhodes ChromaRME Fireface800RMI Harmonic SynthRoland 101s, moddedRoland CE1Roland D550Roland MK550Roland MK570Roland R8/ROM(?)Roland TR606 / 666?, moddedRoland TR808Sci Prophet VSSci Prophet5, racked/keyboardSennheiser VSM201Serge Modular 9-panelShure AuxpanderSiemens V78 x2Simmons SD53(??)SM Pro PEQ505Songbird Tri Chorus x2Sound Devices 772Soundcraft GhostSoundworkshop 262SPL TD4SSL 4000 Channel Strips x5SSL X deskStudio Electronics Code8 FullSynthoma ElkorusSynton Syntovox 221 x2Tantek Flanger/DelayTC1210Tongue DrumsTR727TR9090Valley People Gain BrainsValley People Kepex x10WildlifeYamaha CS80Yamaha D5000Yamaha DX100, moddedYamaha DX11Yamaha EX42Yamaha FS1RYamaha RX11Yamaha TX16W x2Zither AFX-scale Quote
