LabRat
i'm just wondering if anyone knows why dropbox isn't streaming a .mov file i uploaded yesterday? the dropbox website states it uses Apple's HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol, which has been specially designed to stream files to your iPhone or iPad. iOS and the Dropbox app support numerous video formats, including: .mov .mp4 .m4v .mkv .avi .wmv .flv .asfi'm guessing i gotta convert the file to one of the others but before i got spending hours making different files i just thought someone here might know a way to get it working. shanks
LabRat
Problem solvered. FYI, .mov files don't seem to work on the iOS app. .mp4 seems to be the goer
Mitch
Makes sense. You can't load a .mov onto your iphone through itunes, but you can load a .mp4 or .m4vGood to hear you got it working :
LabRat
Yah. Bit strange that they say .mov files work when they clearly don't.
Narukami
What's even stranger is that iPhones records videos in .mov files. God damn it Apple!
