Mitch Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Who has sold the most records on Beatport since they launched ten years ago? And what's Beatport's best selling genre? Find out the answers and a whole lot more below. Source Quote
dflux4 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Deadmau5 is king... Pretty cool to see the time line of most popular genre. Electro had a huge jump in one year from 04-05. Its funny cause that's the genre I was most into at that period of time too. And its interesting to see the slow rise to the top.deep house has had. Quote
OxyKon Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 FUCKING LOL at Dubstep, massive peak and then right back down again Quote
Mitch Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 I'm not sure how much mis-categorisation would throw the figures out.. But there is a lot in deep house that isn't really deep house Quote
Cupe Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I reckon dubstep played a pretty huge part in the dnb spike, seeing as those genres blend alright Quote

andyman Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Tech house has been pretty consistent across the years. No surprises there really.Top post, would read again/10. Quote
LabRat Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I think dubstep/bro step (skrilldog) played a massive part in the evolution of electro, breaks, glitch hop and moombahton. Even though there's a massive decline in dubstep sales, the elements are still very much alive. Like I was saying to ox yesterday, the decline of dubstep sales could be a good thing and it'll return to what it use to be before the bro step takeover Quote
Kodiak Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Interesting seeing deep house top of the current sellers when the top 10 is dominated by progressive and electro. I guess more of those individual songs are sold where deep house must have decent sales across the board. Quote
