Biography

CLIVE HENRY

Clive is one of the UK’s longest standing flag-wavers for underground house music having been an original member of the West London house mafia, one half of the genre-defining tech house outfit Peace Division and resident at the world’s most musically influential nightclub DC10.

Clive started his long musical journey way back in the mid-eighties when he was working after school to earn money to feed his vinyl addiction. He caught the DJing bug going to local hip hop jams in West London and listening to early electro/hip hop on pirate radio. It was all about to change however, when in 1988 he was introduced to London’s early acid house scene by Rocky and Diesel from Xpress 2. They took him to the seminal Spectrum and Shoom clubs which proved highly instrumental in shaping Clive’s musical future.

KID KENOBI

Countless accolades, awards, records, and firsts have been the hallmark of Kid Kenobi’s illustrious 13-year DJing career. Indeed it’s an impossible task trying to resist running them off. From being named Australia’s favourite DJ for a record number 3 years (2003 – 2005), to receiving an award for his first ever remix (of Green Velvet’s “La La Land’ ), knocking up over 20 remixes for some of the world’s biggest names in dance, pop and rock, being the first DJ ever to have a CD series named after him by Ministry of Sound, an ARIA nomination for ‘The Bump’ with Hook N Sling, and to having an itinerary that reads like the Lonely Planet guidebook to clubs worldwide Kid Kenobi has just about done it all.

It’s almost become a cliché to say that there isn’t much left for him to do. And yet perhaps the Kids greatest triumph of all is his ability to keep on evolving and growing as an artist. Music trends come and go, clubbers retire, scenes change, and awards gather dust but Kid Kenobi, it seems, is here to stay.
