Cupe
Got sick of having no space to setup the keyboard on my desk, so made a secondary shelf to sit on top.Went to bunnings and just found a shelf (there are piles of all sizes everywhere)Sawed up a sleeper to made left/right/back mid supports and just sat it on top of my desk.Might be a bit high, but wanted to fit shit underneath it (I've since setup more gear). BeatLeSS
Yes! I need to do this! Are the legs glued/nailed into the shelf or do you just have the shelf sitting on top?
Cupe
I nailed them in, was easy. Then it's just sitting on top of my desk in case I want to move it or whatever
BeatLeSS
I am doing this this weekend. #inspired.
Cupe
There's a whole section of these shelves in bunnings in different sizes. Mine was like $11 and I think 1.8m long. Then just chopped some wood block and nailed it on. Stilts at the side and back, and will be drilling holes in the back one for cords.I wanna paint the wood parts white at some point too.Oh and also I got a bit of felt with sticky-back on it, and just put chunks under the wood so it sits nicely against my desk top (found it in the shed) - but can probs find easily at bunnings too.I've never done any kind of DIY shit before and had zero clue wtf I was doing.Result is boss and perfect. BeatLeSS
What length did you end up cutting the legs down to? I bought the mats last week and should get around to it soon.
Cupe
Mats? The felt pads?I cut the legs to the required height so my midi keyboard fit under it.ps. take a tape measure with you wherever you go.
BeatLeSS
mats - materials.nah it was good i measured my desk at 1.2m and the panel is 1.2m so perfect.
