LabRat
wtf does a kaossilator do?i bought it as an "external soundcard" for my Triton Extreme, so basically im just sampling the sounds from the Kaossilator. wont have the full parameter control of the x/y pad but can get it close on the Extreme anyway. im looking into grabbing myself the Kaossilator Pro now for the midi control

CBG
dude... I've been DJing for 4yrs now and still cant afford gear anywhere near that good should buy some monitors now. the 5500s are no good for monitoring

LabRat
nice man! question... how did you connect your KP3 to your 800? i got a 5000FX and i STILL havnt worked it out! im almost in a state of depression
BeatLeSS
Send/Return on the mixer. When activated will send all sound through to your effects unit, so Send(Line in on effects unit) Return(Line out on effects unit).Couldn't find any 6 1/3mm MONO to RCA cables though so just bought 6 1/3mm MONO adapters.Only downfall, can't use effects from the mixer except colour. LabRat
yeh spewing. looks like im selling my mixer then. i dont have a send/return and it doesnt work from anything else. thats not an investment i need at the moment
BeatLeSS
yeah it's almost impossible without having send/return, get creative with one deck only maybe? Or have record out and then into another channel for sampling/effecting one deck to the other?
LabRat
hmm, that sounded way to complicated just then lolso record out into another channel? so the kaoss pad will work as another deck basically, but because its coming from record it should sample through to the channel? BeatLeSS
Yeah. It'll seem something like this;Deck A in Channel 1Deck B in Channel 2Record out to Effects unit Line inEffects unit Line out to Channel 3.Limitations---------------On the DJM 800 i can pick the send/return to only send/return one specific channel OR Master. Essentially meaning i can switch between which channel i want to effect/sample etcIf you have both channels happening at once (Mixing) It will be based on the master sound (as it's going through the record out (what you're hearing on the speakers))So you can still sample/effect on the fly - but if you want to do one song from Deck A, you can't have any overlapping sound from Deck B on the master channel, so as long Deck B is only CUE'd not playing you'll be fine If this still not making any sense i'll get some pics up of how it should look for you tonight. LabRat
nah that makes perfect sense. thats how i pictured it in my mind actually. needed to draw it out because it was a lil early to take in but got it in the end might give that a go since i've got 5 channels. i'm pritty keen to make things easier and get myself an XONE 42. just had a look at it a little while ago and would just be a better idea lol
