wrxfiend Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Serato recommend Shure m477 cartridges, I use them and have great tracking with serato vinyl.havent tried the ortofones myself Quote
shamrock Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 wait, serato would recommend them OVER their own brand? Quote
russell Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 wait, serato would recommend them OVER their own brand?they're not serato's own brand. They are an Ortofon model designed for using with tracking vinyl. Also, I haven't used that particular model but ortofons are my preffered choice of cart. Quote
Mitch Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Anything with good tracking will do. Sound quality isn't real important unless you want to use real vinyl as well. The m447's are a popular choice (as already mentioned) Quote

eggssell Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 but the m447 i assume is superior on regular vinyl (sorry havent checked your links though).i remember reading all about various needles and tracking and shyte but honestly unless your name is qbert you probably cant go wrong with any of the good ones.i still use the ones that came stock with st150's. still go good. never replaced the needle yet either. shamrock Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 got a pair of these now (btw) - must say they are significantly loudner than then m44 on the control vinyl. sounds quality is comparable i think, but i'm only using a pathetic speaker system. next going to purchase the performance vinyl and check the quality.... shamrock Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 yes, so what i mean is. that 'humm' you get when you play the play the control vinyl without any output. Quote
