LabRat Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 so i just came across this and it's an interesting post. this is a list of all artists issuing copyright infringements against people remixing and bootlegging. i don't know if it has the same implications for mixes being removed off soundcloud and what not but if you're planning on remixing or something it's worth a lookhttp://dontsample.me/ Quote
OxyKon Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Fuck that is a big list of people that have the stick up too far Quote
Mitch Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Fuck that is a big list of people that have the stick up too farIt's not the artist fault, it's just the fact they are fortunate/unfortunate (depending how you look at it) to be signed to one of the big 4 labels. Quote
Tomy Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 everyone pulls their own stuff down and so they should, you have to to protect your profits etc. from running a couple of small labels its amazing how much of an impact it makes if i take down all the illegal stuff down from zippy share etc. its like people think that it costs nothing to run a label or be an artist, really pisses me off. LabRat Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 As a label I understand that it's an issue but when tracks from your catalog appear on mixes on soundcloud and what not wouldn't you be happy about it rather than wanting to remove it? (I'm aware I may be traveling a little off track with that question) Quote
Kodiak Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I think there is a big difference with individual tracks on zippy share etc. I don't think any of us begrudge those take downs. Quote
