What music do you listen to during the day?

Trying to get an understanding why no one listens to ADJF Radio.

So what are you listening to? And what would make you tune in?

I mainly download podcasts off soundcloud and listen to that, streaming eats up my dl limit pretty quickly

I don't stream anything. Don't have the quota on mobile (or don't want to use it for that) and why stream shitty 128kbps when I can listen to the good stuff directly from my devices? I'm just particularly sensitive to lower quality music. Why did I pay thousands for my hifi gear and spent time and money upgrading my car stereo to listen to shit sources material (and the better the gear the more obvious it is). Dance music is already overly compressed and sounds shitty enough as it is. I also don't stream from Soundcloud for the same reasons. I just use it for crate digging and reviewing.

But beyond that for me music = moods. And most of my daily life is spent listening to easy listening rock, acoustic, blues and singer songwriter type of music (Jack Johnson's, "Taylor" tops my iTunes play count, Ben Harper's, "Burn One Down" and John Mayer's, "Who Says" not far behind....Hmmm 2 of those 3 are about smoking weed?)

There's good compression sources now days so 128 isn't exactly as shit as it once was

Sounds pretty good actually.... Although still a bit of (what I am guessing, unless it is actually part of the source material - Tony De Wit Tokyo Mix - Good mix too) extra hiss on the hihats. Betting it's not 320kbps though. 192? Or some form of variable bit rate? For me 192kbps is where it becomes somewhat reasonable, 228 better. I personally can't tell any difference between 320kbps mp3 and an AIFF from Beatport, but this is more to do with the less than ideal way dance music (and most modern music) is mastered than anything else.... But that is a whole other subject all together.

This is just listening through my HD-25's... But they are a reference I am used to.

Depending on what source material you are playing through it of course.

Regardless, quality to me was not painfully obvious. The second point of my first post is still relevant. It's not the music I would normally listen to, and then I would prefer to chose exactly what I wanted to listen to. Hence the main reason why I don't listen to ADJF radio.

I also do 90% of my music listening in my car which brings me back to the phone streaming data issues.
