Cupe Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 The football World Cup has always been known for the occasional odd ban. Take for example the Nigerian team and the fact that they can have sex if it's with their wives (sorry, no girlfriends). This time around, due to a partnership agreement with Sony, players are banned from rocking up to games with their obnoxious looking Beats by Dre headphones who have been honestly assessed as shit.Despite the ban, Beats poster boy and Brazilian prodigy Neymar was spotted with a pair as he stepped off the bus to attend the squad’s last training session before their draw with the gallant amigos Mexico. The company that was recently purchased by Apple for billions has had to make headway (literally) for free Sony issued headphones to all players participating in the 2014 World Cup. Poor guys huh?Source: stoneyroads.com Quote
Kodiak Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Don't know which is worse Beats or Sony? Beats actually aren't that bad, if they were half the price. And anything Sony with a speaker is pretty shithouse. Quote
Narukami Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 As much as I hate Beats, this is a pretty shitty thing to do on Sony's end. Forcing people to not use a product because the company paid for it. I know I sound like a crazy protesting activist and/or conspiracy theorist (trust me, I hate these types of people) but the fact that a company can just ban things in order to get the upper hand. It's a dick move from a competing business' perspective and kinda scary from a consumer's perspective. Quote
Cupe Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 This is how sponsorships work, though. If Apple (beats) can't fork out the free shit and money to become a major sponsor, they don't deserve to show their face.Sony has always backed football in a huge way, and I haven't seen many Apples or b's on any football jerseys (compared to SONY). BeatLeSS Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Good on Sony! Fucking winning. This world needs to be rid of the Beats by Dre filth. Kodiak - watch your tongue, my Mu-te-ki 7.2 system has had some heckers parties/dj'ing/sound run through it. Top notch in a living room with CDJ900's/DJM800 combo. Quote
Gandy Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Sony headphones are puss but as Cupe said they have supported football since the dawn of time so they can do whatever they like imo Quote

Narukami Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Eh, that's true. They're only banning players from using them anyways. It's good to see famous icons not using Beats instead of seeing everyone and their grandma's grandma using them.My beats Bluetooth speakers are fucking mintpffft. Pffffft. PFFFFFFFT Quote
Gandy Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 There comes a point where hating something just because it's popular is just dumbThe beats pill XL is pretty much the best buy you will get for a portable speaker and not getting the best because it's popular is just dumb Quote
