how many of you have one of those licenses that allow u to play copyright music legally

and

have any of you ever been checked to see if u have one of these licenses???

i do house parties without one fo those licenses

The only people that have to worry about licenses are (in general) mobile DJ's. If you are a bedroom DJ you need zilch, if you are peforming in a pub or club the owner generally has to worry about it, not yourself (make sure you are playing legal copys however, not pirated). If you are a mobile you need everything... Check out my article linked from the main page for more info.

yes dj dennis... that unfortunate soul who had a real misunderstanding on what the laws where and why people got in trouble for them

all bar, cafes, and retail stores all have to have a licence to play any cd's or radio over the house system

i was listening to am radio end of last year... no idea what station coz it was in my elec prac and i was testing my prac built radio but they were talking about the music industry and how they are apparently about to start getting a lot tougher on it... sounds a bit like just talk to me. I honestly don't see how they can regulate it

copyright is very important in everything you do in music. best to see a music lawyer to see where you stand. You just never know when it will save your ass.
