Can you see your headphones while you're using them? Aesthetics comes after quality and build. Sennheiser hd25/amperiors and xone xd-53's are pretty highly rated and much cheaper than their beats counterparts

Beats are ok, but I also say no. There's much better options for much cheaper. I don't need to say much more than what's already posted

I recommend the HD 25 amperiors. Will be purchasing a pair in the near future myself (upgrading from HD25 sp model)

On top of the douche factor of a DJ wearing beats.... Fuck they are heavy and uncomfortable!

^Actually, the best/worst thing about wearing Beats is that everyone will like you more or think you're more "Pro". At one of me gigs, I forgot my cans and of the host's mates lent me his Beats. It was the worst sounding thing ever and the headphones themselves felt like they were about to break at any moment.

But sooo many people came up to me and complimented "my" Beats. One of them even told me I looked pro for having them on.

No to beats and no to Amperiors!!

I bought two pair of the amperiors and both had problems with high notes. They sounded tinny and did not perform compared to my HD 25 II addidas. Beware and try before u buy!

I think you will find most people rate Pioneer DJ equipment highly.... Well all except their headphones. But, this is also something that is very much a personal choice. What you like the sound of and find comfortable may not be the same as everyone else.

what's your budget? i bought the hd8 - awesome quality, quite comfortable as well, and the best thing is OVER-EAR configuration vs ON-EAR. isoloation is great as well. not sure how they stack up against the hd25 (which is a classic!) in terms of isolation.
