BT537 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Looking at buying a new controller and have mainly been looking at these two. Can anyone give me a heads up which controller will be the better option performance wise etc? Quote
SolDios Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 The R1 is more of a CDJ replacement whilst the x1 is meant to be used as a controller.Really depends where etc you will be using it. Quote
yizzle Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 depending on what and where you plan on using it. they are pretty different imo.if this helps at all. some specs of the two.DDJ-SX:&XDJ-R1:So anyway, if you really wanted to use CD's for eg you would have to go with the XDJ.im not really sure what you want to use them for.Check out the specs and throw out more specific questions anytime mate *edit: what sol dios said ^ Quote
Cads Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hey guys I know that the post's been cold for a few months, but I was also looking to get a XDJ-R1. I want to learn on pioneer gear (coming from traktor) and the xdj seems to be the closed thing to CDJ's that I can afford hah. Only query is, is there a new version of this controller coming out as it's over a year old now? Any ideas? Quote
LabRat Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Why not get a hold of an sx or sr? It's a serato controller but has the common pioneer functionality. The r1 is a cool idea but the sr or sx may be a better option Quote
Mitch Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 What's your budget mate?Depending on your location, may be able to set you up with a cheap CDJ pack for similar pricing.. Quote
Cads Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I'm in Brisbane buddy. I currently use an S4 but I want to steer away from using the laptop (to an extent - still want to run my F1 etc). I'd prefer CDJ's but my budget is only about $2000. Quote
Mitch Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 2k will easily get you a cdj 850 / DJM 700 setup (used but good condition) Quote
Cads Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Yeah I picked up some CDJ900's and a DJM700 in reallly good nick. Only $2k as well Quote
