How do people end up on the Soundcloud 'Explore' page?

dunno, i thought explore would just be the most recent shit uploaded but then i looked and its all shit with 5k+ plays and shit

But there's Trending Music, Trending Audio and then everything split into the genre's

But some shit there is so mixed, like tracks with 100K+ plays and some with like 500.

So da fuck? The amount of shit being uploaded to soundcloud must now be thousands an hour.
